The Soapmaker Challenge Club’s challenge for May is to make a soap using a combing tool.
I just got a new 3D Printer a few days before making this soap, so I created a combing tool to use. However, the prongs on the tool were a bit too close together, and the soap was a bit too thick, so I had to shimmy the tool through the batter. It still worked and looked good after combing. But I wanted to take it a bit further and ran a chopstick through the batter in an attempt to create a “peacock” swirl. I mistakenly ran the chopstick through the wrong direction, and the design did not come out as I had intended.
The design goes all through the soap bar, but seldom does the design look the same in the back when doing it this way. I think I might like the back of the soap better?
The soap is still very pretty with its bright colors, but I think I might try another batch before submitting one for the competition. Oh – and it smells great!!
If you would like to purchase a bar of this soap, it will be ready in about 4 weeks. Please click through the “Read more” button below to check availability and/or sign up to be notified when it’s available.
I love your soap!. It is beautiful and lathers great. I love the smells and the way it makes my skin feel!
Thank you Cyndi!!
