This is my third batch of soap for the Soapmaking Challenge Club. The May challenge is to create a soap using a combing tool for the design.
This time, instead of doing a “peacock” swirl, I decided to try a spiral (French Curl) in the middle of each bar. I’m sorry I don’t have a picture of the soap after I made the spiral while it was still in the mold, but here is a picture of the combed soap – just before I added the spiral. I was thrilled with the way the soap looked after combing. But I feel I messed it up by doing the spiral.
The soap is pretty and smells great, but I’m still not convinced it would win a competition. I’m off to make a fourth batch. Stay tuned!
If you’d like to purchase a bar of this soap, it will be ready in a few weeks. Click through the link below, to check availability and/or to sign up to be notified when it is available.
